I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.

Psalm 34:4 NIV

Listen to Words from the Heart

Among Canadians, takeout is by far the most popular way to engage with a restaurant. Respondents shared that they ordered in the following ways in the past month: 78% of consumers reported picking up takeout, 62% of consumers reported dining at a restaurant and 58% of consumers reported ordering food delivery. This year, 20% more Canadians are ordering takeout than delivery. Why? 42% said they prefer takeout because they can get their food faster than if it was delivered, and 40% said they opt for takeout because fees are lower.

The word “deliver” is an interesting one. It has so many different meanings. We have meals delivered, and babies – the two don’t mean the same thing at all. We can also be delivered from difficult circumstances like being trapped in a mine, or demon possession. King David had experienced God’s delivering power when he wrote, in Psalm 34:4: “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” God loves to set us free from anything that controls us, other than the Holy Spirit of course. So often we are held captive by our fears, our passions, our sins. All of these control us, seize us, often paralyzing us. Our Creator wants to set us free from all of this so that we can be free to serve Him and live lives that honour Him in every way. If you find yourself bound by things in your life over which you have no control, through Jesus Christ you can be set free. Open your heart to Him and invite Him, as He did David, he will deliver you.

These have been words from the heart.
