You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.

1 Thessalonians 2:10 NIV

Integrity

Integrity is an important part of Canada’s identity. Because this is so, established in 2007, the Office of the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner of Canada is an independent organization that strengthens accountability in the federal public sector. It investigates and exposes major wrongdoing through reports to Parliament and investigates complaints of reprisal. The Office is a premier investigative and decision-making body, known for its impartiality and fairness. We recognize that elected officials are accountable to Parliament, and ultimately to the Canadian public, and that a non-partisan public sector is essential to our democratic system.

We live in a day when too many people put their entire life on social media for the whole world to see. Too often those who profess to be followers of Jesus post things that don’t represent Him well. Christians are called to live our lives, in public or private, with consistency and integrity. The apostle Paul understood this and had lived a consistent godly life. In 1 Thessalonians 2:10, he writes: “You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.” Faith was never meant to be a performance. It was meant to be a life. Paul reminds the Thessalonian believers that the gospel didn’t just come to them in words, but in witness—in character that could stand under the gaze of both people and God. That’s a sobering thought, isn’t it? Our children are watching. Our neighbours are watching. A weary world is watching. So today, let’s ask a simple prayer: Lord, make my walk match my words. When people see us, may they catch a glimpse—not of us—but of Christ living in us.

These have been words from the heart.
