Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6 NIV
Do Not Be Anxious
According to Anxiety Canada “If your child is struggling with anxiety and you’re not sure how best to help him or her, arming yourself with key facts and general knowledge about anxiety will be the start of creating a plan of action to offer you and your child some confidence and direction. Anxiety is normal. Everyone experiences anxiety from time to time. It alerts us to threats, protects us from danger and helps us reach important goals. Anxiety isn’t dangerous. Although anxiety feels uncomfortable, it is temporary and will eventually decrease.

If you are a dog lover, you’re going to enjoy this story. I recently saw a short video on social media and it showed a baby sitting in a room with a golden retriever behind him. There was a crash of thunder and the baby, startled, started to cry. The dog got up, moved around the baby and gently placed himself around him to protect him. Immediately the baby stopped crying. I thought “this is exactly what the Lord Jesus does for us.” There is so much in this world that causes anxiety. It is a huge problem for many. The apostle Paul knew this, so writes, in Philippians 4:6: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Jesus already knows what we are facing. He knows the cause of our anxiety. He will always respond when we need his presence – we just have to call on him. Thanksgiving is a big part of this command. As we lift our eyes from whatever is causing the anxiety and onto Jesus, we realize that He is holding us and will always be there for us.
These have been words from the heart.
