Satanic Opposition
The Official Opposition is the largest party of the parliamentary opposition, which is composed of members of Parliament who are not in government. Typically, it is the second-largest party in the House of Commons. The Official Opposition is viewed as the caucus tasked with keeping the government in check. It is also generally viewed as the alternative government or “government in waiting”. The Official Opposition maintains a shadow cabinet, with the leader of the Official Opposition at its head, of members of Parliament and senators who often have the same portfolio areas of interest as actual ministers.

I’m not given to looking for a demon under every bush, and we who follow Christ are not to live in fear of the enemy of our souls and of God’s plans. The devil is not at all powerful like the Lord is – Satan is a fallen angel. He isn’t everywhere all the time. This being said, we are always involved in a spiritual battle. The Bible says we wrestle against principalities, powers, and rulers of the darkness of this world, and they do their best to thwart God’s plans. Paul longed to be out of prison and free to visit his friends in Thessalonica. But he says in 1 Thessalonians 2:18: “For we wanted to come to you—certainly I, Paul, did, again and again—but Satan blocked our way.” Satan does do his best to thwart the people of God from doing the work of God. Knowing this, we need to pray regularly that God’s will would be done here on earth as it is in Heaven, the one place Satan can do nothing. When we are doing God’s will, we must pray.
