I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 NIV
Keeping the Faith

The poll found that 66% “fear for the future of Canada,” while 62% say “they have lost faith in the ability of the country to keep peace, order and good government in place.” 69% of those living in Quebec fear for the future of Canada.

The final epistle that Paul wrote is his second letter to his friend Timothy. At the time, Paul had been serving his second prison stint in Rome, this time a much more severe experience. He was in chains and allowed few visitors. He suspected his death was imminent and he was right about that. As he faced his impending death, he was looking back on his life and ministry, and was able to say, in 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” What a joy to be able to look back and recognize his consistent walk with Jesus, his singular focus on his ministry and his faithfulness in keeping his eyes on the prize. How was he able to get to the end of his life and make this declaration? This was the same Paul who would declare “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” In our own strength we will fail – how many of us have experienced this over the years? As we abide in Christ, as we keep connected to Jesus through time in His word and prayer, He provides His unending resources. Trust Him.
These have been words from the heart.
