Words from the Heart for Thursday December 26th, 2019
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.
Revelation 1:8 (NKJV)
Who Is To Come
Canada’s appeal as an immigration destination has been increasing over the past two decades, with a total of 313,580 immigrating to the country in 2019. This figure is a decrease from 2016, when about 323,190 immigrants came to Canada, but is much more than the estimated 199,170 immigrants in 2003. Most foreign-born individuals in Canada came from India, followed by China and the Philippines. The United States was the fifth most common origin country for foreign-born residents in Canada.
353 Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled in the first coming of Jesus. That’s a staggering number that includes prophecies about His conception, His birth, His life, His death and resurrection. Everything about Jesus’ first coming was prophesied from ancient times, and He fulfilled them all perfectly. In the New Testament, one out of every twenty-five verses deal with the promise of His second coming, and Revelation 1:8 is a great example: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Jesus is the beginning and the end of all things, and just as surely as He was here, and is here with us now, He is coming again. This is the blessed hope of all who love Him. On this day after we have celebrated His first Advent, so we wait for His second, longing for the day when all of prophecy will be fulfilled and Jesus will come to reign in His Kingdom forever and ever. This will happen just as surely as He came the first time. With John the Revelator we cry out, come, Lord Jesus!
These have been words from the heart.
