Words from the Heart for Thursday December 16th, 2021
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 (NKJV)
Dwelt Among Us
The beauty of Muskoka, cottage country just a few hours drive north of Toronto has become known as The Hamptons of the North thanks to the amount of celebrity sightings. The sightings shouldn’t be surprising – many rich and famous own cottages in Muskoka. Long time Muskoka cottagers Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell and Kate Hudson have been sighted for years, since they bought their first cottage on Lake Joseph. Other well-known cottage owners include the likes of Cindy Crawford, Tom Hanks and Stephen Spielberg.
There is a lot about Christmas that is special. We love the lights, scents and sounds of the season, we love the gatherings with friends and family. But there is nothing more precious to those of us who love Jesus than what the apostle says in John 1:14: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” This is the heart of Christmas. The God who spoke the entire world into being – the one whose name is Logos, the Word – the Almighty God, the I-AM of Israel, has stepped into our world and for a time took up residence here. He left the glories of heaven to step into time and space. The one who wrote these words, the apostle John, walked with the Logos every day for over three years and testifies to being witness to Jesus’ glory. Jesus is still Immanuel – still God with us. Now His resurrection power has been released through us and into our world. During this season testify as John did that you too have seen His glory unleashed in and through you.
These have been words from the heart.
