Words from the Heart for Thursday August 20th, 2020
Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years.
Genesis 1:14 (NLT)
Seasons, Days, Years
According to the website TripSavvy.com, summer is the most popular season to visit Canada, but it goes on to say, “The best time to visit Canada is during the fall months, from September through November. The weather has cooled down but is still comfortable, the summer crowds have left, prices drop, and changing fall foliage provides a beautiful backdrop for a vacation. Also, fall celebrations such as pumpkin, apple, and wine festivals are in full swing and give visitors a chance to visit slightly out of the way farms and orchards.”
All of life is marked by time. We speak of the seasons of life. The youngest children know exactly how old they are and when their birthday is. We check the time so many times a day we lose count. All of this was part of God’s plan for the world. The Bible tells us that God, who is outside of time, created time, and marked it through the movement of the planets in the solar system. Genesis 1:14 says, “Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years.” Time didn’t happen by chance. It is a greater leap of faith to believe that the world all happened by chance than to believe that a God of order created this amazing world, even to marking perfectly day and night, days, weeks, months and years, decades, centuries and millennia. And just as perfectly, He created you and placed you at just this time in history. He has a purpose for your life and calls you to live this life for His glory. In this season of time.
These have been words from the heart.
