Words from the Heart for Thursday April 2nd, 2020

The people surrounded him and asked, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” Jesus replied, “I have already told you, and you don’t believe me. The proof is the work I do in my Father’s name.”

John 10:24-25 (NLT)

The Proof

If you are a foreign student who wants to study in Canada, you need to secure a Canada Study Permit and have proof of unencumbered available funds required to cover tuition and living expenses. You can prove funding with proof of your Canadian bank account showing money you have transferred, a Guaranteed Investment Certificate from a Canadian bank, proof of a student or education loan from a bank, or proof of funding paid from within Canada if you have a scholarship or are in a Canadian-funded educational program.

Just about everybody has an opinion about who Jesus is. Many see Him as a good teacher, or a holy man, or an example to follow. It was the same in the days when Jesus walked physically on the earth. As we read through the Gospels, we see all sorts of people, from the religious leaders, to the political class, to those in the crowds that were following Him throughout Galilee, expressing their opinion about Him. In John 10:24-25 we see some of them clamouring for Jesus to tell them who He really was. “The people surrounded him and asked, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” Jesus replied, “I have already told you, and you don’t believe me. The proof is the work I do in my Father’s name.” Jesus was always reserved about telling people who He really was. He wanted them to figure it out, and come to express their faith in Him because of all they saw Him do and teach. The proof of Jesus being the Messiah was all that He accomplished. It still is, by all He accomplishes in our lives today.
