Being a follower of Jesus comes with incredible blessings. We experience the peace that comes the moment our sins are forgiven and our guilt and shame are removed. We have the ever-present Holy Spirit living in our hearts, empowering us to live a life that honours and glorifies the Lord. We get fellowship with God’s people – those who love the Lord like we do. So many blessings. It is easy to just sit back and enjoy all the benefits of being a son or daughter of the living God. Isn’t it lovely to just sit and soak in Jesus? It sure is, but the Lord has so much more for us. Mark 16:15 says, “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.’” Our relationship with Jesus Christ isn’t something we are allowed to keep to ourselves. I’ve heard too many Christians say, when asked to share their faith, “my faith is a personal thing.” Says who? Certainly not Jesus. I am so grateful that the person who shared Jesus with me didn’t believe His faith was personal and he didn’t need to share it. Somebody today needs to hear about Jesus from you.
These have been words from the heart.
