Words from the Heart for Sunday October 7th, 2018

God, your thoughts about me are priceless. No one can possibly add them all up.

Psalm 139:17 (NIRV)

Priceless Thoughts

Take a piece of paper and write your birth date on that page. Then, stop and consider that the Lord’s thoughts for you did not begin on that day. Rather, His loving plan began before you were born. And, it would take countless pages to list all His loving thoughts to you. You are of great value to Him. How amazing is the way He loves you! Someone who feels rejected and cut off from the Heavenly Father needs this good news from you today.

Listen to Words from the Heart

Canada’s oldest surviving original act is a law about how newcomers become Canadians. The Naturalization of Aliens Act of 1849, handwritten on yellowed parchment, is stored in the Senate of Canada archives in an acid-free box on a shelf surrounded by other boxes, deep in the heart of Canada’s Parliament. According to France Belisle, the Senate archivist, “This is the oldest piece of legislation that we have.” The archives assure us that parliament’s priceless historical records will be kept safe for future generations of Canadians.

When you are in love with someone, that person is on your mind all day long. Even on a busy day, he or she will come to mind often, and you will wonder what they are doing and whether they are thinking of you as well. What is amazing is that this is not only true with human love but with agape love, God’s love, as well. Listen to how the Psalmist expresses it in Psalm 139:17, “God, your thoughts about me are priceless. No one can possibly add them all up.” God has you on His mind. David purposefully made the pronoun singular – God, your thoughts about ME are priceless. It is hard to comprehend how God can think of each one of the billions of people on earth but he can and he does. He knows you by name and he loves you deeply. We can’t even begin to comprehend the loving thoughts that God has for you. I’m surprised this verse isn’t one of the most popular among God’s people. As you ponder the truth of this verse, how should you respond to this kind of incredible love?

These have been words from the heart.
