For we live by believing and not by seeing.

By Believing

Freedom of religion in Canada has been defined as “the right to entertain such religious beliefs as a person chooses, the right to declare religious beliefs openly and without fear of hindrance or reprisal, and the right to manifest religious belief by worship and practice or by teaching and dissemination.” The term “religion” has not been specifically defined, although the Supreme Court has stated that beliefs or practices rooted in secularism are not protected by the guarantee of freedom of religion.

We are all people of faith. From the moment we are born, we are putting our faith in something or someone. Babies, even before they are able to understand, innately trust that someone is going to take care of them, providing food, clothing and shelter. Throughout our lives we put faith in so many others in our lives – teachers, doctors, our spouse – I could go on and on. So, it shouldn’t surprise us that those of us who through faith have come into a personal relationship with Jesus, are commanded to continually walk by faith. Paul puts it clearly in 2 Corinthians 5:7: “For we live by believing and not by seeing.” Our entire life as followers of Jesus is a walk of faith. We pray continually to the God we have never seen with our own eyes. That doesn’t mean that our faith is blind. God has given us the Bible, which is more and more supported by historical evidence. Our faith is reasonable, but it is still faith. We trust in a God who has revealed Himself in a very real person named Jesus, who now lives and dwells with us and in us. Walk today by faith in Him.

These have been words from the heart.
