‘But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
My Grace is All You Need
Lovely, intelligent, and well-dressed. That’s how 82-year-old Frances Greenberg describes Grace, the newest member at her long-term care home in Montreal’s Notre-Dame-De-Grâce neighbourhood. Grace is a rosy-cheeked, young-looking woman with a layered bob haircut. Oh, and she’s also a robot. Designed by the GeriPARTy Laboratory team, Grace visits Résidence Pearl & Theo twice a week as part of a study led by Montreal’s Jewish General Hospital. “It’s lovely to have something like this here,” said Greenberg, who is among three seniors taking part in the study.

Who would have thought a robot called Grace would be a blessing to the residents she visits in Montreal? Real grace is certainly a blessing to all who have experienced forgiveness of sins and eternal life, offered through the love and grace of God. The apostle Paul writes about this in 2 Corinthians 12:9: “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” God’s grace comes to us just when we need it. His grace saves us the moment we trust in Jesus. His grace provides all we need to live victoriously over sin and opposition to the Gospel. His grace is given when we are weak and don’t have within ourselves what we need to live above the world. Every good thing we have is by His grace. His grace makes the Biblical truth real in our lives – when we are weak, He is strong. God wants to extend His grace to you today. Reach out in faith to Him.
These have been words from the heart.
