Words from the Heart for Sunday November 25th, 2018
When your words are made clear, they bring light. They bring understanding to childish people.
Psalm 119:130 (NIRV)
Clear Words Bring Light
God used words when He declared, “Let there be light.” His words brought light and opened the way for the creation of all that we know as our universe. When the Lord’s Words are made clear to individuals today, they will also have a very important impact. His words give understanding. Allow His Word to shed light on the situation in your life today that requires wisdom. He will give it.
Imagine a food truck. Now, imagine a food truck on steroids — but instead of serving food, they serve pieces of glass blown at more than 1,000 degrees Celsius. That’s what Mandy Patchin and her three-year-old Calgary-based company Glass House Experience are serving up at this year’s Stampede. They ended up buying a moving truck and converting it into Canada’s first, and only, mobile glass-blowing studio.
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. It is also one of the most wonderful. With four exceptions, it speaks to the truth, trustworthiness and blessing of God’s word. Psalm 119:130 is a great example. It says, “When your words are made clear, they bring light. They bring understanding to childish people.” One of the strengths of God’s Word is that while it challenges the greatest minds, and theologians have plumbed its depths for millennia, a child can read it and be blessed and guided. When we read the Bible, genuinely seeking to hear God speak through it, the Holy Spirit gives us insight and clarity. As He does so, we find that what God teaches us in His word has a direct impact on how we live our lives and how we see the world around us. While the greatest human minds try to figure out the purpose of life, the simplest child can understand that God loves him or her and has a loving plan for their lives. God’s word is a gift. If you are struggling with something right now, take time to read the Bible. You will be amazed at how it will bring light.
These have been words from the heart.
