Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Proverbs 16:3 NIV
Established
The North-West Territories was the first Canadian territory. It was established on 15 July 1870. As a territory, the region became part of Canada, but it lacked the population, economic and infrastructure resources to attain provincial status. Falling under the jurisdiction of the federal government, the territory covered a vast area, stretching west from a disputed boundary with Labrador, across the northern portions of present-day Quebec and Ontario, through the Prairies to British Columbia, and north from the 49th parallel to the Arctic Ocean.

During our lifetime we establish a lot of things – a family, a credit score, a career, maybe a business, a life. We establish a life by the decisions we make – big ones and little ones, good ones and bad ones. There is one decision that all of us need to make if our lives are going to be all they should be. Wise King Solomon tells us what that is in Proverbs 16:3: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” We all make plans – short-term and long-term. When you woke up this morning, it is likely that the first thing on your mind was the plans you had for today. I hope the next thought was the prayer “Lord, you know my plans for the day. I commit them to you. Lead me today, Lord.” Day by day we are called to commit our lives to the God who created us and loves us deeply. You can entrust your day to Him today. It doesn’t necessarily mean that every plan you have made will come to pass. But you will know that whatever happens today, God is in control.
These have been words from the heart.
