The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Psalm 34:10 NIV

No Lack

There is a serious lack of family doctors in Canada. More than six million Canadians say they do not have regular access to primary care physicians. It’s a crisis the experts say has caused untold harm and cases of preventable death and disease — and it’s expected to get worse before it gets better. In Canada’s system of publicly funded health care, family doctors play a crucial gatekeeper role by coordinating care and ensuring access to preventative medicine, drugs, diagnostics and specialists.

If you honestly love someone, you will have a desire to ensure that they are taken care of. One of the most important ways to express love is to care. So, it makes sense that God would promise to take care of His children. Psalm 34:10 says, “The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” There are those in our world today that believe there is no difference between human beings and non-human creatures. This verse sets things straight. God has a special place in His heart and care for human beings. Only in us has He breathed His breath of life. Only men and women have a sense of eternity. Only people have a deep longing for relationship with our Creator. Because there is this special relationship between God and the highest of His creation we can count on God’s care for us. He knows you intimately. He is aware of your needs and He is committed to meeting those needs. You can seek Him for your daily bread and for all you need to walk closely with Him.

These have been words from the heart.
