Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
Psalm 71:17 NIV
The Light of Christ
According to National Geographic magazine, the Bas St-Laurent region has the second most beautiful sunsets in the world after Hawaii. If you only have time for one stop in the region, I recommend visiting Kamouraska, considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in Quebec. To live the moment like the locals do, head to Avenue Leblanc. That’s where they gather every evening to contemplate the flamboyant colours dancing over the St. Lawrence, sitting on one of the benches along the promenade.

We all love to hear testimonies from those who have been delivered by Jesus after living a life far from God and filled with wrong choices. The heart of the Gospel is the transformation that only Jesus can provide. He releases those imprisoned by sin, addiction, regret and guilt. He gives life to those dead in transgression and sin. What a God we serve. At the same time, there is blessing for those who grew up in a godly home, where the light of Christ always shone. King David speaks to that blessing in Psalm 71:17: “Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.” I remember speaking with a friend who had come to know Jesus while he was in prison. I told him what a blessing it was to see what God had done in his life. He told me he wished he had my testimony – knowing Jesus early in my life and having parents who taught us about Him. David had grown up, and God used those young years to prepare him for all He had planned for him. What matters is that we have come to know the Lord.
These have been words from the heart.
