Words from the Heart for Sunday July 22nd, 2018

Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.

Psalm 147:5 (NIV)

His Understanding Has No Limit

Many times we have a difficult problem to solve. We run out of answers. We long to be able to make a difference with the need. How wonderful that we have a mighty God to call upon. Unlike us, there is no limit to His understanding. When we ask, He will give us wisdom and answers to meet the difficult need.

In an effort to help you understand Canadian politics, you might be interested to know that all Canadian citizens aged 18 or over may run in a federal election, unless they are convicted of a crime under the Canada Elections Act or detained in a penitentiary. Some public office holders are also ineligible. Candidates must appoint an official agent who will incur election expenses. They must also pay a $1,000 deposit, which will be reimbursed once their official agent submits a return of election expenses and unused official receipts.

Have you noticed that there are things that are hard to understand? I remember my father, who was a pharmacist, trying to help me understand chemistry in high school. He worked with me every evening but at best, I understood only enough to pass the course. How glad I am that this is never the case with the God, whom we know through Jesus Christ. Psalm 147:5 says, “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.” Some of the greatest minds in our day recognize that behind this universe there is an intelligent designer. All that we see in our world could not have happened by chance or by accident. King David had experienced the power and majesty of God in his life. Over and over, God had delivered David from his enemies and had forgiven him when he had fallen into deep sin. God knew him well and understood his deepest needs. He knows you as well and understands you better than anyone else. And He has the power and authority to meet your deepest needs.

These have been words from the heart.
