Words from the Heart for Sunday January 24th, 2021
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21 (NLT)
All Glory to God
Canada has some of the most glorious scenery on the planet. Montmorency Falls is one of the most beautiful. Just 10 kms from Quebec City, Montmorency is 30 metres higher than Niagara Falls. The refreshing mist that emerges from the falls is very pleasant on hot summer days, but the spray freezes in winter, accumulating on the cliffs and at the foot of the falls, where it forms what is known as the “sugar loaf.” Some years the icy mass can reach epic proportions.
We catch a glimpse of the glory of God in the most majestic of His creation. The grandeur of the mountains, the vastness of the prairies, the depth of the oceans all point to a Creator God who is so far above anything we can think or imagine. The Bible tells us that this great God wants to pour His power in and through our lives. It’s almost more than we can grasp. The apostle Paul puts it this way in Ephesians 3:20-21: “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” It is not easy for us to understand how God can be glorified through us. We look at our own lives and see how far short we fall from being like Jesus. But that really is the point. When He transforms us by His grace, when we become like Jesus, when others see the difference Jesus makes in us, God gets the glory. Allow Him to shine through your life today – for His glory.
