Words from the Heart for Sunday February 2nd, 2020
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
A Time for Every Purpose
Generalist investors have shunned the Canadian oil and gas sector for five long years, but experts say that could change because of a slowdown in the United States shale sector.
Investors in recent months have become increasingly concerned that wells drilled in the top U.S. shale oil and gas formations have been less productive than advertised and that companies are spending too much capital on drilling programs. As a result, less capital is becoming available to U.S. exploration and production companies. It seems to be Canada’s time.
There is an increasing number of people who believe the world came about by chance. They are convinced that there is no intelligent designer behind, or caretaker for, this amazing universe. I happen to think this is a bigger leap of faith than to believe that God lovingly created everything, and continues to be the governor of all that takes place in both the macro and micro of our world. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…” Even time is in God’s hands. He who is outside of time governs our world through time. He not only knows what is best for us, but when. In my estimation, we who love the Lord don’t usually have much trouble trusting God’s plan for our lives. But we do find it challenging sometimes to trust his timing. We want God to operate on our timetable. But he won’t, and wise King Solomon understood this. God has a purpose for everything and a time for everything. Whatever you are facing right now, keep on trusting – not only his will, but his timing.
These have been words from the heart.
