We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus’ Name Glorified

A report in 2018 stated that a British Columbia man was deemed inadmissible to Canada for being a security risk based on his Facebook posts that glorified terrorism in support of the Islamic State group, the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada said. Othman Hamdan is a Jordanian national who had been acquitted of three terrorism-related charges by a B.C. Supreme Court judge in September 2017, but immigration authorities kept him in custody and determined at multiple detention reviews that he poses a danger to the public.

As we live our lives for Jesus day by day, sometimes sharing our faith and the goodness of God and other times just allowing Jesus to shine through, we can forget that we are bringing light into an increasingly spiritually dark world. Paul reminds us of the impact we are having in 2 Thessalonians 1:12: “We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” The Lord Jesus is seen in the ordinary moments of our lives when we choose kindness over harshness, faith over fear, and patience over frustration. And as His grace works in us, we begin to reflect His character more clearly to those around us. As followers of Christ, our lives reveal Jesus. I pray that today all that we do and say will bring Him glory and allow Jesus to be glorified through us. Let’s walk gently today, knowing Jesus delights to make His presence known through us as we experience His grace and express His love.

These have been words from the heart.
