…always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For Everything

If you want to know everything about Canada … well, lots of interesting stuff, anyway, check out the website xyuandbeyond.com. Their webpage called “Only In Canada” details their obsession with things like hockey, doughnuts and more. According to their webpage, “Canadian things include the Canadian stuff we love to eat and drink and that we can’t get when we are travelling. These are all the things you should know about Canada and Canadian “things” before you go.”

We all know people who walk around with a cloud over their head. Just like Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh, they exist in a “woe is me” world. Nothing seems to go right with them, and they drag others down with them. Nobody wants to be around people like that. What a contrast to what the Bible calls the followers of Jesus to be like. Paul writes about this in Ephesians 5:20. There he calls God’s people to be “…always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” I love when Paul gets so all-encompassing. We are called to be always giving thanks. It ought to flow out of us as easily as we exhale. And Paul calls us to give thanks for everything. This is where things get a bit more challenging. It isn’t always easy giving thanks no matter what we are facing. But if we do so in the name of Jesus, our Saviour, Redeemer and Friend, who never leaves us, it becomes so much easier. He is the source of every blessing, and as we keep our eyes on Him, thanksgiving will naturally flow. So always give thanks, for everything, in Christ.

These have been words from the heart.
