For we live by faith, not by sight.

We Live by Faith

There are some disadvantages to living in Canada, and an online article lists some of them. It says “Canada has a high cost of living, particularly in major cities like Toronto and Vancouver. Housing, transportation and food costs can be expensive. Canada has long and harsh winters, with snow and ice covering much of the country for several months each year. This can be challenging for those who are not accustomed to the cold. Finding employment in Canada can be difficult.

It isn’t easy to live by faith, but Christians are called to do so. Paul makes this very clear and simple. In 2 Corinthians 5:7 he says, “For we live by faith, not by sight.” We are people of sight. We live in a visual world. Many of us spend an inordinate amount of time in front of our TVs, laptops, tablets or phones, watching whatever it is that has attracted us at that moment. It’s easy to be persuaded by what we see. Those who produce all that we watch do so in order to impact us, direct us, change us. And we so easily fall for what we are watching. How different is the Kingdom of Heaven! While we became citizens of that Kingdom the moment Jesus became our Saviour and Lord, we haven’t fully experienced it yet, and won’t until we pass on or Jesus returns. So, we walk by faith. We trust the King. We read the Word, or listen to it, and it gives us the principles of our Kingdom. But we are called to live daily by faith in the One who lived, died and rose again for us. Live by faith, today.

These have been words from the heart.
