If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5 NIV
God Will Give You Wisdom
Did you know that there are Canadian proverbs: wisdom that has come out of Canadian experience. Here are a few: “Some pursue happiness, others create it.” “Don’t yell ‘dinner’ until your knife is in the loaf.” “Patience is a tree whose root is bitter, but its fruit is very sweet.” “Walk a mile in my moccasins to learn where they pinch.” “You can’t catch skunks with mice.” “There is no trailer hitch on a hearse.”

Because so little in this world is truly free – if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is – we are often dubious when somebody offers us something without any strings attached. This is one reason why so many people find it difficult to believe much of what the Bible promises – God offers so much to us by grace – our salvation, His desire to carry our burdens, His promise to fill our lives with His presence, His righteousness, His power, His authority. God’s agape love comes to us freely. Here is another promise that comes with no strings attached. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” All of us lack wisdom from time to time – and this promise is for you. The Bible is filled with the infinite, multi-faceted wisdom of God. As we study God’s Word daily, He gives us the wisdom we need to live Biblically and avoid so many pitfalls that cause people to stumble. God’s wisdom is offered freely, to you, today. Ask the Lord for the wisdom you need for decisions today, and He will give it generously.
These have been words from the heart.
