Words from the Heart for Saturday October 9th, 2021
When you have troubles, I am with you. When you cross rivers, you will not be hurt. When you walk through fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not hurt you. That’s because I, the Lord, am your God. I, the Holy One of Israel, am your Savior.
Isaiah 43:2-3a (ERV)
I Am With You
Foreign Affairs Canada’s Travel Advice and Advisories are the Government of Canada’s official source of destination-specific travel information. They give important advice to help you to make informed decisions and to travel safely while you are abroad. They are one way to be assured as a Canadian that Foreign Affairs has your back. They suggest “no matter where you plan to travel, make sure you check the Travel Advice and Advisories page for your destination twice: once when you are planning your trip, and again shortly before you leave.”
I heard the story of a kindergarten class where the children were talking about their dads. One said that his dad was a doctor who helped people feel better. Another said her dad was a policeman who protected people. The third classmate was about to say something when she noticed her dad had just walked in the room. Running over to him, she said “my dad is here!” The greatest gift we can give our children is our presence. Which makes Isaiah 43:2-3a such a blessing. “When you have troubles, I am with you. When you cross rivers, you will not be hurt. When you walk through fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not hurt you. That’s because I, the Lord, am your God. I, the Holy One of Israel, am your Savior.” You need to put this promise on yellow post-it notes and stick them all over your house. God’s great promise is that He is with us. No matter what we are facing, or how difficult life is, we can walk in victory with the knowledge that our God, through Jesus Christ our Saviour, is with us.
These have been words from the heart.
