Words from the Heart for Saturday October 6th, 2018

You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

Psalm 139:16 (NLT)

Before I Was Born

Parents may plan for the arrival of their new little baby. They can arrange the room and purchase everything the baby will need, but, there is no preparation as amazing as the preparation of our Wonderful Lord. His plans and destiny for each child are part of His loving work for the unborn life. The Lord loves you that way, too. Be refreshed in His caring knowledge of every detail of your life.

While Canada’s in-hospital birth rate continues to fall, an increasing proportion of women are delivering babies via caesarian section, a new report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information states. With more than 103,000 C-sections performed in 2016-2017, they continue to be the number one inpatient surgical procedure in Canadian hospitals, followed by knee, and then hip replacements. There are more than 366,000 childbirth hospitalizations in Canada recorded in that same period, meaning that nearly one third of Canadian women are now giving birth through an abdominal incision.

The teaching of the word of God about the value of a human being stands in contrast to how much the world values human life. Too often people are discarded, treated unjustly. I can’t comprehend how the likes of Hitler, Stalin and Mao, just to name three, could murder millions of people. But it continues to happen, far too frequently. As you ponder that, listen to what Psalm 139:16 says: “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” The Bible teaches that God knows who we are even before we are born. No wonder Christians are so opposed to abortion. Over and over, the Bible teaches that God values us, and knows us, even in the womb. And after we are born, God knows what goes on in our lives every day. If that isn’t staggering enough, we are told He knows what goes on in our lives every moment – and He has known this before the moment of our birth. What a wonderful God we know and love.

These have been words from the heart.
