Words from the Heart for Saturday October 31st, 2020
How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand — when I awake, I am still with you.
Psalm 139:17-18 (NIV)
Researchers from the University of British Columbia published the first scientific study of cobalt-blue spinel in Canada, a mineral that produces fine gemstones. Spinel comes in a variety of colours ranging from red and pink to violet and blue and these precious stones are prized for their intense natural colour and high transparency, both measures of gem quality. There’s considerable interest in cobalt-blue spinel for gems and jewelry. There are few stones that match its intense blue colour.
Those who have been working from home for the past six months understand how tiring a day of online meetings can be. It is important to book time between meetings to get up from the desk, stretch, walk, get some fresh air. Human beings don’t have unlimited energy – we need to take time to recharge. How different is the God who created us! Psalm 139:17-18 says: “How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you.” When we go to sleep, God is with us. When we wake up, God is still with us. During the night, while we sleep, He is still active, keeping an eye on the world that He loves. What does He do with all that time? God’s infinite mind is filled with infinite thoughts. David understands that he is always on God’s mind, and so are you. You can trust your life to Him, knowing He has you on His mind and in His thoughts.
These have been words from the heart.
