As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.
Psalm 103:13 NIV
Compassion
Canada offers a Compassionate Care Benefit to Canadians who are responsible for the care of a seriously ill family member with a significant risk of death within 26 weeks. An eligible claimant must submit a medical certificate signed by a medical doctor or nurse practitioner treating the seriously ill family member. The medical doctor or nurse practitioner will attest to the fact that the seriously ill family member has a significant risk of death within 26 weeks and needs a family member to care for them.

We have become jaded as we keep up with all that is happening in the world these days. We wake up in the morning wondering what horrible things we are going to find out happened overnight. War between nations, violence in our cities, cruelty to other human beings and animals are common, it seems. It isn’t surprising, then, that some of the more popular websites are those that share good news – a couple who have been happily married for many years, a particularly happy event, a particularly surprising act of kindness and compassion. None of these should be out of the ordinary for followers of Jesus. In Psalm 103:13 King David writes, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” Those of us who have experienced the love of God through faith in Jesus Christ, those of us who know firsthand the compassion God has for us, are called to be compassionate to others. We are to be like Jesus in all things, particularly in living out His love for us by loving others. He will give you opportunities to show compassion today. Don’t miss them.
These have been words from the heart.
