Words from the Heart for Saturday November 17th, 2018

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

Psalm 143:8 (NIV)

Entrusting My Life

Oh the message of the morning! We may be made to think of distressing challenges facing us in our day. Perhaps we are weighed down by the failures and disappointments of yesterday. But with each day comes word of the Lord’s unfailing love for us. We can put our trust in Him and seek His direction. He will show us the best way to order our day.

Despite the trend for politicians and others to dismiss reporting as “fake news” a majority of Canadians say they have some level of trust in traditional news media, according to a new poll. The 2017 Ipsos poll found that 69 per cent of respondents have some level of trust when it comes to mainstream news media. Fifty per cent of respondents said they have a “fair amount” of trust in the media and just 12 per cent said they have a “great deal of trust.”

Each day passes quickly. We look back over the years and wonder where the time went. For those of us who are followers of Jesus Christ, we look back in amazement at how God’s presence has filled each and every one of those days. What that review does for us is cause us to look to the future with hope. This was the case with the Psalmist who writes in Psalm 143:8, “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.” As we look to the future, we can trust God to speak His unfailing love into our lives daily. No matter what is going to happen today, we never need to doubt God’s incredible love for us. As we trust Him, He will guide us through the day. Our responsibility is to daily trust in God. As you face this day, how is God speaking into your life? His word will guide you today – take the time reading your Bible and ask the Lord for His promises for this day.

These have been words from the heart.
