It is important that Bible verses be put into context. It is easy enough to take a verse out of context if we’re not careful. Mark 11:24 is one such verse. It says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Taken out of context, and many do, it seems like all you have to do is ask Jesus for anything you want, and He will give it to you if you have enough faith. But this isn’t what this verse means. In the context of the verse, Jesus is speaking about fruitfulness for the Kingdom of God. The verse is in the context of the fig tree that wasn’t bearing any fruit. There is no excuse for a man or woman of God not bearing any fruit for the Kingdom. Out of our life there ought to be people saved, delivered and thriving in their walk with Jesus. If there isn’t, ask the Lord Jesus to empower you to serve where He calls you to go and do what He calls you to do. He never gives an unfunded mandate.
