Words from the Heart for Saturday June 5th, 2021
God said, “I am giving you all the grain bearing plants and all the fruit trees. These trees make fruit with seeds in it. This grain and fruit will be your food.”
Genesis 1:29 (ERV)
I Am Giving You
A portion of Canada’s foreign aid has gone toward global poverty reduction over the last 30 years. Canada launched the Development Finance Institution as part of Export Development Canada with the aim of increasing private sector investment in developing nations. The government committed $300 million toward this program and the private sector funding will prioritize initiatives in the private sector to back women and youth-led movements. The Canadian government is also trying to create more responsive programs like challenges, micro-funding and other incentive-based funding schemes.
God never gives a command without a promise. When He calls us to do something, He provides all we need to accomplish the task He sets before us. In Genesis 1:28 God commands Adam and Eve to multiply and populate the entire planet and to care for His creation. He knew that this was a major responsibility, so He then gives them a promise. The very next verse says “God said, “I am giving you all the grain bearing plants and all the fruit trees. These trees make fruit with seeds in it. This grain and fruit will be your food.” From the very beginning God provided for His people. He would later tell them that one of His names is Yahweh Yireh, the Lord who provides. He provided manna in the wilderness, and when Jesus came He taught His followers to pray “give us this day our daily bread.” We can trust the Lord for all of our needs – spiritual and physical. He is by nature the provider. Whatever you need today, bring it to the Lord. Call upon His name, the Lord who provides. And keep on trusting that He will provide.
These have been words from the heart.
