Things Above

One of the best ways to view Vancouver is from above. Known for its world-class shopping, the city is the perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts and those looking for urban adventures. While you can enjoy cycling, hiking and shopping in and around the city, if you are looking for something a little different to your normal sightseeing, then Harbour Air Seaplanes have a number of floatplanes that can give you a panoramic view of the city and the islands en route to Vancouver Island.

Most of the time we are thinking about the practical things of life. We plan our next meal, we make our daily to do list, we make plans for a vacation, we take care of our finances. There is nothing wrong with any of these things. After all, Jesus appointed a treasurer to look after the finances of His team, and He made sure that those who had gathered to listen to His teaching didn’t go away hungry. The challenge is that most people only concentrate on these things, and then they wonder why life doesn’t seem to have purpose and meaning. The Bible reminds us that we need to consider the things of eternity. Paul the apostle gives this counsel in Colossians 3:2: “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” How much time have you taken today to focus on the things of the soul? How is your relationship with your Creator these days? Are you living according to Biblical and Kingdom of God principles? Followers of Christ need to be sure that we set our minds on things above – things that have eternal value and impact – through time in His Word and in prayer.

These have been words from the heart.
