If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Matthew 7:11 NIV

Then How Much More

When it comes to owning and operating businesses, Canadian women are not standing on the sidelines. Whether in retail, food services, communications, the trades, technology or other areas, according to a recent report by the Diversity Institute, the number of women entrepreneurs in Canada is growing and their contributions are having a positive impact on the economy. Women business owners have created more than 1.5 million jobs and contributed about 150 billion dollars to the Canadian economy, according to research by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.

As we mature something changes in our lives. Children and youth look forward to Christmas and birthdays for the gifts they are going to get. At some point that changes, and our greatest joy is what we give – watching others express their gratitude for what we have given makes our day. It is natural for parents and grandparents to want to give gifts to those they love. It is one way to let others know that they are loved. The Bible says that if this is how human beings express their love, it is even more so with God. Matthew 7:11 says, “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” God loves us so much. He finds great pleasure in blessing His children with good gifts. That doesn’t mean He will make us rich – the Bible never promises that. But He does pour in our lives one blessing after another – every good gift we have comes from Him. You can count on that.

These have been words from the heart.
