But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth…

Jeremiah 10:12-13 (NIV)

By His Power

The electricity sector in Canada is organized along provincial and territorial lines as part of their jurisdiction over natural resources. All provinces and territories have set up utilities boards and regulate transmission and distribution rates. In a majority of provinces and territories, utilities are vertically integrated Crown corporations operating as regulated monopolies. A number of municipalities operate local distribution systems. Some of them are also significant players in the power generation business, under their name or through their control of publicly traded companies.

We human beings think we are so smart, so wise, so strong. We are taught that we can do anything if we just set our minds to something. But the reality is so different. We often find ourselves at a loss for how to accomplish something. We either don’t have enough wisdom or enough physical strength. This can never be said of our God. Jeremiah 10:12-13 says this: “But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth…” The Creator God is without equal. He spoke into being all that we see in our world. He still keeps the natural laws functioning so that, in spite of the impact of sin, the universe is one of order. The good news for those who are followers of Jesus is that this same power is available in our lives. Jesus told His disciples they would do even greater things than He did because the power of the Holy Spirit would fill each one. Whatever your need today, the Lord promises that He will provide.
