Words from the Heart for Saturday June 22nd, 2019
When I’m in trouble, I will call out to you. And you will answer me.
Psalm 86:7 (NIRV)
You Will Answer Me
You may be interested in knowing the questions that immigrants have to answer in order to pass the Canadian Citizenship test. I suspect that many people born in this country would have a difficult time getting it perfect. For example, who is Canada’s head of state? If you said the Prime Minister, that would be an incorrect answer – Canada’s head of state is Queen Elizabeth II. The Canadian citizenship test includes a section about your local municipal, provincial and federal electoral districts and representatives. A citizenship judge may ask you about this information at a citizenship interview.
I love men and women of great faith. When they reach out to the Lord, they just expect He will come through for them. These are people who accomplish great things for God’s kingdom. And it seems that no matter the challenges they face, God pours out His provision and blessing. Such was the case with King David. He never wavered in his faith. In Psalm 86:7 he writes, “When I’m in trouble, I will call out to you. And you will answer me.” It wasn’t that life was always easy for David. God never promises that. It is just that in times of ease or times of trial, David had confidence that the Lord would answer him when he called out to Him in prayer. This confidence grew out of experience. David had cried out to the Lord before and every time God answered. So he knew that is just what God does! Do you have that same faith? How has God answered you in the past? Do you have the confidence that He will answer you again? For whatever you need right now, pray, asking God in complete confidence and faith.
