Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

Isaiah 30:21 NIV

This is the Way

There are some of you who, for a variety of reasons, will not travel by plane. For you, the good news is that you can travel between Canada and the USA by train. This combines relatively low costs, reasonable duration and incredible scenery. In travelling from the US into Canada by train you have two company options. VIA Rail Canada and Amtrak each have three routes that cross various borders between the US and Canada. All routes start and end in major cities so you can quickly orient yourself to other transportation options upon arrival.

We take travel for granted in our part of the world. Unless you live in the far north, getting around Canada can happen in a variety of ways. Add navigation or GPS systems to your travels and it’s hard to get lost. It has not always been this easy and it still isn’t in some parts of the world. There are still places that don’t make it onto a map. The Bible uses this analogy to speak of God’s direction in our lives. He has a plan for our lives, and His desire is that we will follow in the way that He has set for us. Through His word, and the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit, He will lead us even in the most challenging times. The Old Testament prophet says this in Isaiah 30:21: “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “’This is the way; walk in it.’” If you are a follower of Jesus, you can count on Him providing a way as you navigate the Christian life in these difficult days.

These have been words from the heart.
