Then the Wind Died Down

For the past seven years, Canadian companies have been exploring opportunities in India in the area of renewable energy, including solar and wind. As far back as 2014, the Canadian High Commission was reporting that, in light of a renewable resource conference held in New Delhi that year, “The companies are actively exploring commercial partnership opportunities in India.” A number of provinces, like Quebec and BC lent support to the companies who attended the conference and were exploring investment in India.

We’ve lived through the year 2020. It was a year none of us could have imagined. As we look towards a new year, the question everyone is asking is this: will things return to normal in 2021? Will the storm die down, will the pandemic end? As we face this new year, we have one assurance – Jesus is still Lord and He is in control. His first disciples discovered this when they were out on the Sea of Galilee in the midst of a storm. They were in fear of their lives, and Jesus was asleep. They wondered if He really cared about them. They discovered that not only did He deeply care about them, but He had the authority to do something about the storm. Mark 4:39 says this: “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” Jesus cares about you as well. He will be with you throughout 2021. Whether it is a year of calm or storm, Jesus is with you. And when He needs to, He will speak into the storm and bring calm.

These have been words from the heart.
