Words from the Heart for Saturday December 26th, 2020
From John, to the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is coming; and from the seven spirits before his throne.
Revelation 1:4 (ERV)
Grace and Peace
In an effort to maintain peace on Canadian roads as automation increases in vehicle technology, the Canadian Senate established a task force to determine the future of Canadian highway laws. This relates to both cars and trucks. The report says this: “The trucking sector will also be affected by this technology. Automation and connectivity will allow trucks to drive in ‘platoons’. A driver will be in the first vehicle. The subsequent vehicles, without a human driver, will automatically follow behind the first at a predetermined distance.”
It always seems like Christmas comes and goes so quickly. We spend weeks preparing for the one day, and just like that, its over. Here we are on Boxing Day, eating leftovers and picking up pieces of wrapping paper. Time just seems to march on by so quickly. Which makes the description of Jesus in Revelation 1:4 so interesting: “From John, to the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is coming; and from the seven spirits before his throne.” This Jesus, whose birth we celebrated yesterday, is the God who is eternal. He was, and is and is coming again. And from Him flows grace and peace. This is a profound mystery. The One who has eternally existed outside of time and space, the One who established time itself, stepped into time and space on the first Christmas. And He did so, so that by grace, by His unmerited favour, we can experience the peace of God deep within our soul. And one day, as surely as He came the first time, He will come again. Are you longing for that day?
These have been words from the heart.
