And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
Luke 1:46-47 NIV
Praise
In praise of Canada, Cat Lin, the Travel and Food Content Creator at For Two, Please, told this to the website canadianaffair.com: “We love Canada for its stunning landscape and vast variety of geographic features. Most people associate Canada with the Canadian Rockies. It certainly makes your jaw drop but there is so much more than that – we have badlands, glaciers, vineyards, and even desert! Every opportunity in the great outdoors helps us appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature and leaves us overflowing with gratitude for our precious Earth.”

When we clearly see the hand of God’s blessing in our lives, praise naturally follows. When God chooses to use us, or pours out good gifts upon us, those of us who know Him through faith in Jesus Christ, breathe out praise. This has always been the case, and we see it clearly in Mary’s response to being chosen to be the mother of the Messiah, Jesus. In Luke 1:46-47 we read, “‘My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.” There is something here that we should not miss. Notice the depth of her praise. It didn’t just pour fourth from her lips. It was her soul that glorified the Lord and her spirit that was rejoicing in God. When the Lord touches us, from deep within us we offer praise and thanksgiving. It isn’t just lip service we offer to the Lord. He transforms us at the core of our being, and our praise wells up from deep within us. Is Jesus at work in your soul? Does your spirit rejoice in God? Invite the Lord to do a deeper work in you and praise will well up from there.
These have been words from the heart.
