My Defense

According to the Government of Canada website, “The first priority of the Government of Canada is to protect the safety and security of Canadians both at home and abroad. Public Safety Canada spearheads this effort by coordinating the activities of federal departments and agencies tasked with protecting Canadians and their communities, businesses and interests. Public Safety is also responsible for developing policies and providing advice to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.” The preservation of national security is a multi-faceted endeavor.”

God is always on your side. He loves you deeply and you can always count on Him to come to your aid when you need Him. The prophet Isaiah had a glimpse into the goodness of God and His deep love for us in Isaiah 12:2 he says “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” Isaiah’s trust was fully in the Lord. He knew that God was the One he could trust no matter what was happening in his life. He knew that God’s nature was one of faithfulness. When the omnipotent God came alongside, there was no one who could defeat Isaiah and the prophet knew that. With that assurance all fear was removed and Isaiah could walk in victory. So can we. When we trust Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we have the promise of His abiding presence. With His strength poured into us we can walk in victory. Whatever you are facing right now, trust in the all-powerful God who is with you and who will be your defender and your Saviour.

These have been words from the heart.
