Human beings have two different reactions to the truth that God sees and knows everything. For those who are trying to avoid this reality, it causes them to flee in order to try to hide from Him. This was the reaction of Adam and Eve when sin first entered into their hearts. How different was David’s reaction when faced with his sin by Nathan. He immediately repented and cried out to God for forgiveness. This was by far the wisest choice. God says this in Jeremiah 23:23-24: “Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord.” God is everywhere, and sees all things. And we are wise, when we sin, to recognize this. The best reaction is not to flee and try to cover our sin – all that leads to is guilt and shame. The God who sees all things is ready to forgive and set right your heart and life if you will invite Him to do so. That is why Jesus came, and because of His death and resurrection, you can be assured of God’s grace and forgiveness.

These have been words from the heart.
