And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV
Unveiled Faces
Unquestionably, Canada is a demographically multicultural country, with 20.6% of its population originating from foreign states. Of the 250,000 newcomers to Canada every year, less than one percent are from Europe. Ten percent of this number is refugees. Toronto itself is home to a large number of these newcomers and together with Vancouver and Montreal, account for most of them. Current population trends indicate that the visible minority in Canada would not be a “minority” anymore in a hundred years. This is the new face of Canada!

What most people fail to understand is the immeasurable holiness of God. The Hebrew Scriptures teach us that because of sin, no one can look at God and live. Even the great Israelite leaders, when they had the opportunity to approach God at all, had to veil their faces to live. That all changed when Jesus came. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus offers forgiveness and redemption to all who place their faith and trust in Him. Something amazing happens when we do – He implants His righteousness in every human heart who trusts Him, so when God looks at us, He sees Jesus in us. It means we can approach God at any time without fear. The apostle Paul teaches this in 2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” What a blessing to know that through Jesus we can approach God at any time. Take time today to approach the King of kings and Lord of lords. Enter into His presence in prayer and worship. His work of transformation will continue.
These have been words from the heart.
