“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV

Never Fails

In a Globe and Mail article entitled “From Toronto to Kelowna, Canada Never Fails to Impress,” Marcus Gee writes “In Maryfield, SK., a prairie hamlet where my uncle grew up during the Great Depression, the owner of the only corner store is a woman from South Korea who used to run similar shops in Vancouver and Prince George. She told me she had always liked the idea of living in a small town. So, when she saw the store for sale on the Internet, she picked up and moved all the way to Maryfield.”

We are getting closer to Summer all the time. In some parts of Canada, daffodils and tulips are already in full bloom. It won’t be long before the orchards will be in full bloom too and before long they will be bearing the fruit that we love so much. Winter passes, followed by Spring and then Summer. It never fails. If this is the truth with seasons, flowers and fruit, it is more so when it comes to the God we love and serve. Jeremiah 17:7-8 uses this same analogy: “‘But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.’” The man or woman who trusts in God for His will for their lives will lack for nothing. Like a fruit tree by water, he will continually tap into God’s resources for all things. Do you?
