Words from the Heart for Monday September 28th, 2020
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.
John 14:3-4 (NKJV)
I Will Come Again
Canadians who are returning to Canada without symptoms of COVID-19 must ensure they have a suitable place of quarantine that has the necessities of life. They must go directly to their place of quarantine without delay and stay there for 14 days from the date they arrived in Canada. In transit, they must wear a suitable mask or face covering. If possible, they must use private transportation to reach their place of quarantine and avoid contact with others while in transit.
During the three and half years of His ministry, Jesus prepared His disciples for the ministry that would be theirs after He left them to return to the Father. He promised that He would send the Holy Spirit to fill them and empower them for the task. He also promised that when He left, He would be preparing a place for them with the Father. And in John 14:3-4 He says, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” There is little doubt that this promise was the great impetus that drove the disciples to go to the ends of the known world with the Gospel. Jesus even gave them a bit of a clue about timing when He said, in Matthew 24:14, “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Since the beginning of the Christian faith, it is the return of Jesus that has driven global missions. He is coming soon.
