Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 NIV

God Will Give You Peace

Peacekeeping is based on the idea that having a force of impartial troops present in a regional conflict can help reduce tensions and improve the chances of a peaceful outcome. But taking on these duties is demanding work. A Canadian Armed Forces member leaving on an international peace mission could be called upon to monitor ceasefires, patrol buffer zones, act as an intermediary between clashing groups, investigate violations, clear landmines, investigate war crimes, seize weapons, protect refugees and provide humanitarian assistance.

Peace is lacking in our world today. This is the case in relationships between nations and people groups and within the hearts of men and women all over the world. In fact, it can be argued that this is the greatest need in the world today. People seek that peace in all sorts of ways and yet it remains as elusive as ever. The Bible is very clear in describing that longing among the nations of the world and within the human heart. It tells us that in the beginning there was peace in God’s creation. Sin stole that peace, and it wasn’t long after sin became a reality that the first murder took place. The bulk of the Biblical narrative is God’s plan to restore peace and redeem all that was lost. The apostle Paul wrote this in 2 Thessalonians 3:16: “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” Paul describes the fullness of the peace that God offers – He gives peace at all times and in every way. If you are longing for peace – turn in faith to Jesus.
