Words from the Heart for Monday October 4th, 2021
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Ephesians 6:10 (NIV)
Strong in the Lord
Canada’s economy is highly developed and one of the largest in the world. In 2020, the country’s annual gross domestic product was 1.64 trillion in current USD, according to the latest available World Bank data. That made Canada the world’s ninth-largest economy. Canada’s economy is highly dependent on international trade with exports and imports of goods and services. The country’s three largest trade partners are the U.S., China, and the U.K. Its three largest industries are: real estate and rental and leasing; manufacturing; and mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction.
Strength comes in many forms. An economy can be strong, an Olympic weight lifter shows the extreme physical strength human beings can show. You can buy extra strength pain killers that help when you are suffering. But where do you find spiritual strength to overcome temptation and to walk in victory every day? That can seem like an impossibility. Ephesians 6:10 gives us the answer: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” You will notice where to find true spiritual strength – in the God who is all-mighty. He is the source of all strength, and His nature is one of never-ending, never-decreasing power and authority. The God who spoke this world into being has the power to speak life and hope into the most challenging situation you will ever face. In our own strength we will fail continually. One of the great ironies of the Kingdom of God is that we only walk in victory when we recognize our own weakness, we only overcome by surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. When we do, all the strength of heaven becomes ours.
These have been words from the heart.
