The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

Canadian levels of engagement with loyalty programs are among the highest globally, according to a new global study by KPMG. The consultancy’s Truth About Customer Loyalty report includes responses from 18,000 consumers worldwide, including 876 Canadians. Canadians are among the most faithful loyalty program users in the world, with 56% making purchases that earn rewards or benefits several times a week. Only Australians and Italians are more or as active as Canadians, surpassing consumers in the U.S.

Law makers are often guilty of enacting legislation without also providing the means by which to put that legislation into effect. This is called an unfunded mandate – politicians give the bureaucrats instructions to do something but don’t provide the means by which to be successful. It becomes a great source of frustration for the implementers. This may happen in the nations of this world, but it never happens in the kingdom of God. Paul the apostle writes this in 1 Thessalonians 5:24: “The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.’ God never gives an unfunded mandate. Those He calls, He equips. Look closely at what Paul says here – it is God who will do the work He calls you to. The context of this verse is your growth in Christlikeness. God calls you first to be with Jesus – and He is faithful to make you more like Him. As you do so, you will be like Him in being obedient to God’s call on your life. The deeper work of God in your life is always tied to His call on your life to be the hands and feet of Jesus. He will do His work, in you and through you.
These have been words from the heart.
