“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

God specializes in the impossible. He takes situations in our lives that look hopeless and somehow turns them around for our blessing and His glory. There is a story in the ninth chapter of Mark’s Gospel about a man who brought his demon possessed son to the disciples. They were unable to drive out the demon, and the father lost even more hope. So Jesus had to revive his faith. In Mark 9:23 he says to the father: “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” The Christian life is a walk of faith. We enter into our relationship with Jesus through faith. We walk with Jesus by faith. And God’s power and blessings are received by faith. The father’s faith wasn’t perfect, but his heart was. He says to Jesus, “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.” Our faith doesn’t need to be perfect. We can come to Jesus with our uncertainty. Receiving the blessings of God depends on the size of our God, not the size of our faith. Reach out to Jesus, even with your tentative faith, and watch Him change the impossible into reality. He is powerful enough to do so.

These have been words from the heart.
