But true wisdom and power are found in God; counsel and understanding are his.

Job 12:13 (NLT)

True Wisdom and Power

Throughout the book of Job there is much comment about the power of God that has been demonstrated in the creation and sustaining of the universe. Here it says that not only is God the source of power but He is also the ultimate source of wisdom and counsel and understanding. We can trust Him even when we cannot explain all that is happening around us. He is still God!

The generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Canada falls primarily under provincial jurisdiction. Provincial governments exercise their jurisdiction through provincial Crown utilities and regulatory agencies. Historically, electricity has been provided mainly by vertically-integrated electric utilities that were often provincial Crown corporations with monopoly rights (e.g., Manitoba Hydro). Some large industrial electricity users, such as aluminum manufacturers, have also built electricity generation facilities to meet their own electricity requirements. The federal government plays a supporting role by investing in research and development and supporting the commercialization of new technologies.

There is no shortage of human wisdom. Libraries, bookstores and daytime TV are filled with the latest advice from supposedly wise people, whose opinion and advice could change by next month. While there is wisdom in this world, and we do get some good advice from those who are well studied or who have lived through some challenges in life, ultimately we look for wisdom to the One who is the source of all wisdom. Job 12:13 says, “But true wisdom and power are found in God; counsel and understanding are his.” God is all-wise, and we see His wisdom on every page of Scripture. His desire is that we would live according to His counsel and when we do, He empowers us to live a life accordingly. What a God, who provides the path for us to follow and all that we need to live victoriously as we put His wisdom into practice. What counsel have you discovered lately in God’s word? How has He empowered you to live according to the guidance He has given? Take time to thank Him today.
