And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more…
1 Thessalonians 4:10 NIV
Loving More
An online article about Canada says this: “Canada, a land that captivates the heart and soul, is a place where love flourishes effortlessly. From its breathtaking landscapes to its warm-hearted people, there are countless reasons why Canada occupies a special place in the hearts of many. In Canada, love isn’t just a feeling; it’s a way of life. It’s in the laughter of children building snowmen, the stories shared around campfires, and the collective determination to create a better world.”

Having been involved in global ministry for the past twenty years, I never cease to be amazed at the generosity of those who genuinely care for our champions around the world. They not only support with their donations, but with their prayers and expressions of love. The believers in Thessalonica were known for their love for other believers as well. In 1 Thessalonians 4:10, it says, “And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more…” Paul’s words here feel like a gentle nudge from a friend who cares deeply. He tells the Thessalonians, “You already love well—but keep going. Keep growing.” Isn’t that encouraging? Even when we think we’ve done enough, God whispers, “There’s always room for more love.” A listening ear, a kind word, a forgiving heart—these are ways we grow in love “more and more.” So today, ask God to stretch your heart just a little. Look around and see where your love can reach further, perhaps to someone who doesn’t expect it. And trust Him—every act of love, even the tiniest, matters in ways we can’t always see.
These have been words from the heart.
